Headless travel guitars, multiscale and brass-hardwared.

A headless design removes the headstock, shortens the instrument and moves the tuners to the bridge, which is exactly what a travel guitar wants. Laika builds two: the six-string Str Boden with a 25 to 25.5-inch fan and the seven-string Boden 7 with a 26.25 to 28-inch fan.

Both use our own brass headless hardware, machined on five-axis CNC and aged by hand, on ash, roasted ash or alder bodies with roasted maple necks. Fingerboards in ziricote, rosewood or ebony; frets in nickel-silver, steel or bronze.

Questions about headless travel guitars.

Is it full scale?

Yes. Most Laika guitars use a 25" scale with 22 to 24 frets and standard fret spacing, the body is compact, not the neck. Basses use a 30" scale; the Laika 7 and Boden models are multiscale. Exact scale length is listed on every model page.

Do you ship to the USA?

Yes, and shipping to the USA is included in the price. Every guitar ships tracked and insured, packed in a rigid, foam-lined box.

How do payments work?

Full payment is required to start production. We accept PayPal, Venmo, card via a Stripe invoice, and Ethereum. After payment we confirm your specifications, start the build, and send progress updates.
